Oral Health

Bigger Better Smiles is an initiative of Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV), Ramahyuck District Aboriginal Corporation and Latrobe Community Health Services, which aims to improve the oral health of children and their families in high risk areas across Victoria.

Tooth decay is Australia’s most common health problem. Bigger Better Smiles assists and provides families/agencies encouragement by promoting good oral health habits and healthy eating among children in their care.

The mission of the Oral Health Promotion is to contribute to the reduction of oral disease with a focus on delivering Oral Health programs to the community. Ramahyuck builds oral health promotion capacity and fosters the development and implementation of effective prevention and oral health promotion strategies to improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are constantly striving to deliver an innovative approach to meeting community needs through responsible, professional and dedicated services, Programs are tailored to capture community engagement and to bring a little bit of fun with activities to strengthen and highlight the importance of overall good health.

Families are encouraged to contact Ramahyuck to schedule free Oral Health checks for their children aged 0 – 4.
