Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program

The Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program aims to increase awareness of the adverse effects of substance abuse on individuals and their families and to provide support and referrals to rehabilitation services in order to assist clients to reduce their dependence on substance abuse.

Through our Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program we can provide:

  • counselling sessions in both clinic and community member home settings
  • referrals to medical specialists and associated agencies
  • transport for clients to rehabilitation centres
  • assistance with housing needs
  • education and awareness raising sessions for schools and parents
  • cultural awareness programs
  • assistance with funeral resources, such as help with transport, and loss and grief consultations
  • assistance for elders with day to day activities, such as shopping and transport
  • assistance with referrals for provision of food
  • liaison assistance with Centrelink, banks and other agencies
  • assistance for families to better deal with budgeting and financial management
