The Gunai Lidj Program aims to provide a culturally specific child care program, including a holiday program, which supports child development.
The Centre provides children with high standards of education and care in an environment that is safe and stimulating, and respects their dignity and individual needs. The philosophy that underpins our Gunai Lidj child care program is that every child deserves a caring environment which provides security and continuity.
The Centre’s programs aim to build self-esteem and confidence, foster independent decision-making skills, and to create a self-paced learning environment that responds to a child’s language, physical, social, emotional and cognitive development needs. We focus on encouraging social interaction and emphasising co-operation and respect for the rights and feelings of others.
The Centre also models good nutritional habits through providing well-balanced meals and snacks. Parental involvement in the provision of childcare is also strongly encouraged.
